Jennifer Rene Psaki

 Jennifer Rene Psaki, an American political advisor, served as the 34th White House Press Secretary from 2021 to 2022. A member of Democratic Party, Psaki was previously the White House deputy secretary (2009), White House deputy communication director (2009-2011), spokesperson for United States Department of State 2013-2015, and White House communications Director (2015-2017). Psaki was an CNN political contributor from 2017 through 2020. Psaki's career started in 2001 when she began working on behalf of the reelection campaigns for Tom Harkin, an Iowa Democratic candidate running for the U.S. Senate. Psaki was later appointed as deputy press secretary to John Kerry's presidential campaign in 2004. Psaki was also the communications director of Joseph Crowley, a U.S. Representative, as well as the regional press secretary of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee from 2005 until the year 2006. In 2012, Psaki returned to political communications as the press secretary for the Obama reelection campaign in 2012. In the year 2000, Psaki was appointed the spokesperson for the United States Department of State. Her appointment in the Department of State fueled speculation that she would succeed White House Press Secretary Jay Carney after he left the White House. However, on May 30th, 2014 it was announced Josh Earnest would replace Carney. In the year 2015, she returned to the White House as communications director and remained until the close of the Obama administration.
